Cultural Considerations

Broaden Your Perspective

Culture is much broader than the color of a person’s skin, whether or not they or their child have a disability, what country they are from, or what religion they practice. It also includes whether people live in the city, a small town, or the country; where children spend their time; the family’s larger community; family politics; age; income; legal status (immigrant, refugee); education; rituals; sexual identity; or customs.
